From the Florida Highway Patrol
Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision this morning in Alachua County that resulted in the death of the driver.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 4:50 a.m., a 47-year-old Hawthorne man driving a 2001 Mazda pickup truck was traveling south on County Road 219A.
For reasons to be determined, the pickup traveled off the roadway and overturned. The driver was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The FHP did not release the name of the driver.
