Breaking News this Morning: Driver dies after a single-vehicle collision in Lafayette County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision in Lafayette County this morning that resulted in the death of the driver.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 2:48 a.m., a 55-year-old Branford man driving a pickup truck was traveling east on US Highway 27 west of NE Howard A Hamlin Ln when the truck ran off the roadway onto the north shoulder of US-27.

The vehicle then struck a culvert with its front left and overturned.

The driver was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation

The FHP did not release the name of the driver involved in the collision.
