Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision last night in Levy County that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 10:20 pm, a motorcycle driven by a 50-year-old Marietta, OH man was traveling north on NW CR-345.
While negotiating a right-hand curve, the motorcyclist crossed over the center line, entering the southbound lane of CR-345, continued in a northerly direction, entering the west grass shoulder of CR-345.
The motorcyclist continued traveling north, crossing over NW 100th St., left the roadway, entered the north grass shoulder, and collided with a wooden fence.
Following impact, the motorcycle continued in a northerly direction. The driver fell off the motorcycle and came to final rest, facing a southerly direction.
The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The FHP did not release the motorcyclist's name involved in the crash.
