Breaking News Overnight: One dead, one seriously injured after single-vehicle collision in Brevard County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision this morning in Brevard County that resulted in the death of the driver.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 1:12 am, a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 67-year-old White Haven, PA man was traveling southbound on Interstate 95 approaching mile marker 204 in the outside lane. The vehicle ran off the roadway right into the unpaved outside shoulder as it approached. As a result, the front of the vehicle struck a chain-link fence, continued traveling northwest, and collided with multiple trees.

The driver was pronounced deceased at the crash scene, while a passenger (a 59-year-old Colombia woman) was transported to Holmes Regional Center with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

The FHP did not release the name of the driver or the passenger.
