Updating Breaking News: Driver dies after a single-vehicle collision in Columbia County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle crash in Columbia County yesterday that resulted in the death of the driver.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 5:50 pm, a 20-year-old Lake City man driving a Ford Mustang was traveling east on Interstate 10. Due to wet and rainy conditions and low tire tread, the vehicle lost traction with the roadway, traveled to the right onto the south grassy shoulder into a culvert, and overturned.
The driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.
FHP did not release the name of the driver involved in the collision.
