Updating Breaking News: Two-vehicle collision in Clay County leaves one dead, one seriously injured

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision this morning in Clay County that resulted in the death of a driver.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 4:10 am, a pickup truck driven by a 19-year-old Jacksonville man was traveling west on CR-218. At the same time, a sport utility vehicle driven by a 21-year-old MccClenny woman was traveling south towards CR-218 on Nolan Road.

As they approached, the SUV entered the path of the pickup truck, and they collided.

Both vehicles rotated, coming to final rest facing east on the south shoulder of CR-218.

The driver of the SUV was pronounced deceased on the scene. The pickup truck driver suffered serious injuries, according to the report.

The FHP did not release the drivers' names involved in the crash.
