Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision last night in Flagler County that resulted in the death of the driver.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 11:53 pm, a 59-year-old Ormond Beach woman driving a sport utility vehicle on private property on Strickland Road within Flagler County failed to put her vehicle in park as she exited.
As the driver got out, the vehicle rolled forward and collided with a tree on the driver's side. This impact pinned the driver between the door and the driver's side of the vehicle.
The woman was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The FHP did not release the name of the driver.
