Breaking Morning News: Motorcyclist dies after a single-vehicle collision in Pasco County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision this morning in Pasco County that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 9:35 am, a Yamaha motorcycle was traveling southbound on Ehren Cutoff at a high rate of speed. 

At the intersection of Tower Road, the rider lost control and departed the roadway. Once on the shoulder, the motorcyclist, a 35-year-old Tampa man, struck a utility pole. 

Airlifted to an area hospital, the rider later expired from injuries suffered during the crash. 

The FHP did not release the name of the motorcyclist involved in the collision.
