As the truck swerved back onto the pavement, it began rotating clockwise. It crossed both southbound lanes and entered the right shoulder, where the driver’s side door struck a standing tree. The pickup came to rest beside the tree, facing north.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the FHP report, he was not wearing a seat belt. His name was not released.
