Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision last night in St. Johns County that resulted in a motorcyclist suffering critical injuries.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 11:10 pm, a 39-year-old Palm Coast man riding a motorcycle was traveling south on Interstate 95 near mile marker 308.

At the same time, a 24-year-old Ormond Beach man driving a sport utility vehicle was also traveling south on I-95 ahead of the motorcycle.

As they approached, the motorcycle began to quickly maneuver between the left lane and center lanes, cutting through traffic. The motorcyclist was flown by Trauma 1 to Orange Park Medical Center with critical injuries.

The driver and passenger of the SUV reported no injuries to the FHP.
