Breaking News this Morning: Motorcyclist fleeing PCSO in critical condition after collision with SUV in Putnam County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision this morning in Putnam County that left a motorcyclist with critical injuries.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 8:40 AM, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office was pursuing a stolen motorcycle driven by a 39-year-old Jacksonville man, who ran the stop sign on Edgemoor St. at the intersection of Husson Ave.

The motorcycle collided with a Chevrolet Equinox driven by a 53-year-old Palatka man who was in the intersection.

The driver of the motorcycle suffered critical injuries and was transported to HCA Orange Park.

No injuries were reported by the SUV driver to the FHP.

The FHP did not release the name of the driver or motorcyclist involved in the crash.
