Updating Breaking News: Single-vehicle collision in Columbia County kills driver

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle crash in Columbia County yesterday that resulted in the death of the driver.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 1:50 pm, a 25-year-old Lake City man driving a 2006 Chevy Silverado was traveling south on County Road 245 when the driver failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The vehicle continued in a south direction, leaving the roadway on the west shoulder and colliding with a tree.

The driver was pronounced deceased by paramedics at the scene of the crash.

FHP did not release the name of the driver involved in the collision.
