A 55-year-old Archer man was killed Saturday night after his sedan left a Levy County roadway and struck several trees, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP said the sedan was traveling north and approaching a sharp left turn when it left the roadway. The driver overcorrected to the right, causing the vehicle to rotate clockwise as it traveled northeast into a tree line.
The front and left side of the sedan struck standing trees, and the driver was ejected. The vehicle came to rest in the tree line along the east shoulder of Northeast 105th Avenue, facing south.
The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead. FHP did not identify him in its initial report.
