A 37-year-old Inverness man died after a four-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on the entrance ramp from State Road 44 to southbound Interstate 75, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at about 6:20 am near mile marker 329. FHP said the man was driving a Toyota Tundra south on the ramp when he overtook and struck the rear of a tractor-trailer driven by a 56-year-old Hialeah man.

A southbound Hyundai sedan driven by a 25-year-old Jacksonville man then struck the Tundra, pushing it onto the outside shoulder. There, the pickup hit a parked tractor-trailer occupied by a 34-year-old Georgia man, troopers said.

The Tundra’s driver was taken to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The report did not identify him or provide injury information for the other three drivers.
