Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision this morning in Citrus County that resulted in a motorcyclist suffering serious injuries.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 9:11 am, a Road King Harley Davidson motorcycle, modified to have two rear tires, was traveling southbound on North Forest Ridge Boulevard.
South of West Pentstemon Court, the left rear tire suffered a malfunction and deflated. The rider lost control, and the motorcycle entered the median, where it collided with a tree.
The rider, a 57-year-old Beverly Hills woman, was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
The FHP did not release the name of the motorcyclist involved in the crash.
