Breaking Morning News: One dead, one seriously injured after a single-vehicle collision in Orange County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle crash this morning in Orange County that resulted in the death of the driver.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 4:31 am, a 2011 Acura MDX driven by a 35-year-old Orlando man was traveling northbound on Goldenrod Road approaching Silver Pointe Boulevard.
As he approached, the driver failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the roadway to the right. As a result, the vehicle struck the curb, a light pole, and street signs. The vehicle continued onto the shoulder and collided with a wall, which caused the vehicle to overturn onto its side.
The driver was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. A passenger in the vehicle (a 40-year-old Orlando man) was transported to Advent Health - East Orlando and pronounced deceased.
The crash remains under investigation.
The FHP did not release the name of the driver or passenger involved in the crash.
