Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision last night in Hernando County that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 7:03 pm, a Chevy Silverado sport utility vehicle, driven by a 39-year-old Weeki Wachee man, was traveling northbound on US-41.
At the same time, a Suzuki motorcycle, operated by a 40-year-old Spring Hill man, was traveling southbound on US-41.
At the intersection of CR-572, The SUV turned left into the path and was struck by the motorcycle.
Transported to an area hospital, the motorcyclist later died from injuries suffered during the crash. The SUV driver suffered minor injuries, according to the report.
The FHP did not release the names of the driver or motorcyclist involved in the collision.
