An unidentified bicyclist died Wednesday morning after a collision with a Jeep on U.S. Highway 192 in Lake County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to FHP, a 42-year-old Kissimmee man was driving a 2020 Jeep Wrangler west in the outside lane of U.S. 192 and approaching Town Center Boulevard. An adult male bicyclist was traveling east in the westbound bicycle lane.

Investigators said the front of the Jeep struck the front of the bicycle as the Jeep’s driver attempted to enter the right-turn lane.

The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity remained undetermined when FHP issued its report, and his next of kin had not been notified.

The Jeep’s driver was not injured, was not transported to a hospital, and remained at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
