An unidentified woman was killed early Thursday morning after she was struck by a tractor-trailer on Interstate 95 in Volusia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at approximately 12:57 am near mile marker 265.

According to the FHP report, a 2025 Peterbilt tractor-trailer was traveling north in the outside lane when it approached an adult woman lying in the roadway. The truck struck the woman and then jackknifed following the collision.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity remained unknown when FHP issued its initial report, and investigators were awaiting information from the medical examiner’s office.

The truck’s driver, a 58-year-old Orlando man, was not injured and remained at the scene.

FHP said the crash remains under investigation.
