A 57-year-old Crystal River man was killed Sunday night when his pickup truck left the roadway and struck a concrete power pole, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at approximately 9:30 pm on West Orange Tree Street near North Hidden Oaks Way.

FHP said the man was driving a Dodge Ram westbound on West Orange Tree Street when he failed to negotiate a curve. The pickup departed the roadway and collided with the power pole.

The driver suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
