Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision this morning in Osceola County that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 1:21 am, a 16-year-old male resident of Orlando riding a Suzuki GSX-R750 motorcycle was traveling southbound on Botanic Boulevard approaching the intersection of US-192 (East Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway).
At the same time, a 2016 Toyota Corolla driven by a 42-year-old Palm Bay woman was traveling eastbound on US-192, approaching Botanic Boulevard in the outside lane.
For an unknown reason, the motorcyclist lost control while attempting to enter US-192 from the subdivision, crossed the median and into the eastbound lanes, and entered the direct path of the Toyota, and they collided.
The motorcyclist was thrown from his vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the crash scene. The driver of the second vehicle did not report any injuries to the FHP.
AN UNKNOWN VEHICLE MAY HAVE POSSIBLY STRUCK V1 RIDER AS HE WAS LYING IN THE ROADWAY. THERE IS NO FURTHER INFORMATION ON THIS POSSIBLE VEHICLE. ANYONE WITH INFORMATION ABOUT THIS CRASH IS ASKED TO CALL FHP AT 407-737-2213 OR CRIMELINE AT 1-800-423-TIPS. THIS CRASH REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION.
The FHP did not release the name of the motorcyclist or driver involved in the collision.
