Breaking Morning News: 95-year-old Villages man dies after a single-vehicle collision in Sumter County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision in Sumter County this morning that resulted in the death of the driver.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 9:17 a.m., a Buick sedan driven by a 95-year-old man from The Villages was traveling northbound on Buena Vista Boulevard. North of Bonita Boulevard, the driver failed to negotiate a curve.
The vehicle departed the roadway and collided with a fence, then a tree.
Transported to an area hospital for medical care, the driver later died.
The FHP did not release the driver's name involved in the collision.
