A 63-year-old Glen St. Mary woman was killed early Sunday morning after her car left the roadway and struck several trees and a guardrail in Baker County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. A 47-year-old male passenger from Glen St. Mary suffered minor injuries in the crash.

The crash occurred at approximately 5 am at the intersection of County Road 125 and Sunny Lane. According to the FHP, the sedan was traveling south on County Road 125 when the driver attempted to negotiate a right curve. Investigators said the vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, crossed onto the east grass shoulder, and collided with several trees before striking a metal guardrail.

The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger sustained minor injuries. Neither occupant was wearing a seat belt, according to the FHP report.

The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
