A 35-year-old Cape Coral woman was killed Thursday morning after her car traveled off College Parkway and struck a tree. The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.

A 35-year-old Cape Coral woman was killed early Thursday morning after her car left College Parkway and struck a tree, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 5:15 am near the intersection of College Parkway and Premiere Boulevard in Lee County.
FHP said the woman was driving a 2017 Kia Rio westbound in the inside lane of College Parkway as she approached Premiere Boulevard.
For reasons that remain under investigation, the car traveled off the south side of the roadway and entered the center median west of the intersection. The front of the Kia then struck a tree.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. FHP did not release her name.
The crash remains under investigation.
