From the Florida Highway Patrol
Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision this morning in Pasco County that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 9:39 am, a Mercedes SUV, driven by a 40-year-old Wesley Chapel man, was traveling southbound on Boyette Road.
At the same time, a Kawasaki motorcycle, operated by a 19-year-old Wesley Chapel man, was traveling westbound on SR-54.
At the intersection of the two roadways, the SUV turned right into the westbound lanes and the path of the motorcycle. As a result, the motorcyclist collided with the left side of the SUV.
Transported to an area hospital, the motorcyclist later died from the injuries suffered during the crash. The SUV driver and a 25-year-old female passenger were not injured during the incident.
The FHP did not release the name of the motorcyclist, driver, or passenger involved in the collision.
