Breaking Morning News: Motorcyclist dies after fiery crash with SUV in Pasco County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision this morning in Pasco County that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 7:20 a.m., a Suzuki motorcycle driven by a 32-year-old New Port Richey man was traveling eastbound on SR-54.  

At the same time, a Ford Expedition sport utility vehicle, driven by a 46-year-old Tampa man, was traveling northbound on the exit ramp leading from SR-589 to SR-54. 

At the intersection, the SUV turned left under a green traffic signal as the motorcyclist ran a red traffic signal and they collided. 

After the crash, the motorcycle became engulfed in flames. 

The motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.

The FHP did not release the names of the driver or motorcyclist involved in the collision.
