Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision in Duval County this morning that resulted in critical injuries to a motorcyclist.
According to the FHP incident report, at approximately 5:45 am, a 23-year-old Jacksonville man riding a motorcycle was traveling southbound on Interstate 95 from mile marker 347 in the center travel lane.
At the same time, a passenger bus driven by a 43-year-old Jacksonville woman was traveling southbound on Interstate 95 from mile marker 347 in the center travel lane ahead of the motorcycle.
As it advanced, the front of the motorcycle struck the rear left of the bus.
After impact, the motorcycle struck the concrete barrier and overturned onto the roadway.
The motorcyclist was transported to Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The FHP did not release the name of the bus driver or motorcyclist involved in the collision.
