Breaking Morning News: Driver dies after a single-vehicle collision in Lee County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision this morning in Lee County that resulted in the death of the driver.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 4:41 am, a Van Hool Coach Bus, driven by a 64-year-old Naples man, was traveling north on Interstate 75, near mile marker 116.

As it approached, the vehicle veered off the roadway left, crossed the median, collided with the cable barrier, traveled across the southbound Interstate 75 travel lanes, and collided with trees on the southbound right shoulder.

The driver was pronounced deceased on the scene. The crash remains under investigation.

The FHP did not release the driver's name involved in the crash.
