Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle crash in Columbia County this morning that resulted in the death of the driver.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 11:23 am, a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) driven by a 20-year-old Kings Bay, GA man was traveling west on the entrance ramp to Interstate 10 westbound near the 303-mile marker.
As the SUV traveled west on the entrance ramp, it began to rotate, leaving the roadway and entering the north unpaved shoulder of Interstate 10 westbound.
The SUV traveled through the unpaved shoulder before colliding with a standing utility pole.
The driver was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The FHP did not release the driver's name involved in the collision.
