Breaking News Overnight: ATV driver dies after single-vehicle collision in Columbia County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle crash in Columbia County yesterday that resulted in the death of the driver.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 6 pm, a 55-year-old Lake City man riding an All-Terrain Vehicle was traveling on private property north of SW Windswept Glen.

The ATV failed to navigate a turn, colliding with a standing tree. After the initial collision, the ATV driver was transported to HCA Lake City, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The FHP did not release the driver's name involved in the collision.
