Breaking News Overnight: Bicyclist hit and killed by pickup truck in Charlotte County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a collision in Charlotte County last night that resulted in the death of a bicyclist.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 7:27 p.m., a pickup truck driven by a 17-year-old Port Charlotte man was traveling west on Harborview Road, east of De Leon Drive.
At the same time, a 63-year-old Port Charlotte woman riding a bicycle not equipped with lights was traveling west on the westbound lane of Harborview Road, east of De Leon Drive.
As they approached, the pickup truck collided with the bicycle.
The bicyclist was pronounced deceased on the scene. The pickup driver reported no injuries to the FHP.
The crash remains under investigation.
The FHP did not release the names of the driver or bicyclist involved in the collision.
