Breaking News Overnight: Driver dies in two-vehicle collision in St. Johns County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision last night in St. Johns County that resulted in the death of a driver.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 10:35 pm on Tuesday, a sport utility vehicle driven by a 39-year-old Palm Coast woman was traveling westbound on State Road 206 at South Walk Place in St. Johns County. At the same time, a pickup truck driven by a 72-year-old St. Augustine man was traveling westbound on State Road 206 directly behind the SUV. As it approached, the pickup's front struck the SUV's rear. The pickup traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree, where it came to final rest. The SUV came to a controlled stop on the north grassy shoulder of State Road 206.
The pickup driver was pronounced deceased on the scene. The SUV driver reported no injuries to the FHP.
The FHP did not release the names of the drivers involved in the crash.
