Breaking News Overnight: FHP looking for a hit-and-run driver who hit and injured a pedestrian in Pasco County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a hit-and-run collision last night in Pasco County that resulted in serious injuries to a pedestrian.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 10:10 p.m., a vehicle, believed to be a 2010-2011 Mazda, was traveling southbound on Old Dixie Highway. 

For an unknown reason, south of Hudson Avenue, a pedestrian using a walker was on Old Dixie Highway in the path of the vehicle.

As a result, the vehicle collided with the pedestrian, a 67-year-old Hudson woman, and promptly left the scene of the crash. 

The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. 

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call *FHP (*347) or Crime Stoppers at **TIPS.

The FHP did not release the name of the pedestrian involved in the collision.
