Breaking News Overnight: Motorcyclist dies after a multi-vehicle collision in Sarasota County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a multi-vehicle collision in Sarasota County this morning that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 2:47 am, a 25-year-old North Port man riding a motorcycle was traveling south on Interstate 75, on the right lane, approaching mile marker 180.
As it approached, the motorcycle collided with the rear of a sedan driven by a 26-year-old Estero man.
After the collision, the motorcyclist separated from his vehicle and came to rest on the southbound travel lanes of Interstate 75.
A semi-truck driven by a 45-year-old Orlando man was also traveling south on Interstate 75 in the middle lane when it collided with the motorcyclist.
Then a 38-year-old Orlando man driving a sedan was traveling south on Interstate 75 and also collided with the motorcyclist.
The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
The FHP did not release the names of the drivers involved in the collision.
