Breaking News Overnight: Motorcyclist dies after a single-vehicle collision in Clay County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision in Clay County last night that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 8:01 p.m., a motorcycle driven by a 61-year-old Orange Park man was traveling eastbound on Wells Road west of Eldridge Avenue in the inside lane. As he advanced, the motorcyclist failed to negotiate a right curve in the roadway, and the left side and front tire collided with a raised curb in the median. The motorcyclist could not maintain control, and the motorcycle overturned within the grass median.
According to the report, the motorcyclist was separated from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased.
The FHP did not release the name of the motorcyclist involved in this collision.
