Breaking News Overnight: Motorcyclist dies after collision with truck in Manatee County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision this morning in Manatee County that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 1:30 am, an 18-year-old Sarasota man riding a motorcycle was traveling east on County Road 610 (University Parkway) when it approached the intersection of North Cattlemen Road.
At the same time, a truck driven by a 35-year-old Sarasota man was traveling north within the outside left turn lane of North Cattlemen Road, approaching the intersection of County Road 610 (University Parkway).
As the truck began to execute a left turn to travel west on University Parkway, the motorcycle entered the intersection and collided with the truck.
The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision.
The truck driver did not report any injuries to the FHP.
The crash remains under investigation.
The FHP did not release the names of the driver or the motorcyclist involved in the collision.
