Breaking News Overnight: Pedestrian hit and killed by SUV in Manatee County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a pedestrian hit by two vehicles and killed last night in Manatee County.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 8:27 pm a sport utility vehicle driven by a 52-year-old Bradenton man was traveling west on 26th Avenue East, east of 12th Street Court East.

At the same time a sedan driven by a 21-year-old Sarasota woman was traveling west on 26th Avenue East, behind the SUV.

As they approached, a 73-year-old Bradenton woman was walking south across 26th Avenue East, from the north shoulder, entered the path of the SUV, which collided with the pedestrian. After the initial collision,the sedan's undercarriage collided with the pedestrian.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene. No other injuries were reported to the FHP.

The crash remains under investigation.

The FHP did not release the names of the drivers or pedestrian involved in the crash.
