From the Florida Highway Patrol
Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a collision in Duval County last night that resulted in the death of a pedestrian.
According to the FHP incident report, at approximately 9:45 pm, a 34-year-old Jacksonville man driving a van was traveling east on Normandy Boulevard in the right travel lane.
At the same time, a 53-year-old Palm Coast man was standing on the right travel lane next to an all-terrain vehicle with no lights active.
As it approached, the van collided with the man and the ATV.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The FHP did not release the driver's name or the name of the pedestrian involved in the crash.
