Breaking News Overnight: Pedestrian critically injured by a hit-and-run vehicle in Putnam County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a hit-and-run collision that resulted in a pedestrian suffering critical injuries.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 10:48 p.m., a vehicle described as a red truck was traveling westbound on Silver Lake Drive just east of Geck Road.
At the same time, an 18-year-old Interlachen man was walking eastbound on Silver Lake Drive along the westbound lane.
As it advanced, the vehicle struck the pedestrian, fled the scene, and continued to travel westbound on Silver Lake Drive.
The pedestrian suffered critical injuries.
The vehicle was described as a red truck with possible damage to the front right.

The FHP did not release the name of the pedestrian involved in the crash.
