Breaking News Overnight: Wrong way driver dies after head-on collision in Brevard County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision in Brevard County last night, resulting in a driver's death.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 8:10 pm, a 2020 Nissan Rogue driven by a 73-year-old Micco woman was traveling east (the wrong way) in the westbound lane od US Highway 192 approaching Bumpy Road.
At the sema time a 2018 Mazda 3 driven by a 24-year-old Sebastian man was traveling westbound on US-192 west of Bumpy ROad in the inside lane.
As they approached, the vehicles collided head-on. The impact from the collision caused the Nissan to rotate clockwise and travel into the north grass shoulder. The driver was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The Mazda driver was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
The FHP did not release the names of the drivers involved in the collision.
