Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision in Duval County this morning that resulted in the death of a driver.
According to the FHP incident report, at approximately 4:10 am, a sedan driven by a 26-year-old Jacksonville man, and a 26-year old female passenger from Jacksonville, were traveling southbound on State Road 115.
At the same time, a second vehicle, driven by a 19-year-old Jacksonville man and an 18-year old female passenger from Jacksonville, were traveling northbound on State Road 115.
According to the report, the first vehicle crossed the median and entered the northbound travel lanes, colliding head-on with the second vehicle before coming to a stop, and blocking the northbound travel lanes of SR-115.
The second vehicle stopped on the east shoulder of SR-115.
The driver of the second vehicle died from injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the first vehicle and passengers in both vehicles sustained minor injuries.
