From the Florida Highway Patrol
Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision yesterday in Alachua County that resulted in the death of the driver.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 5:27 p.m., a 39-year-old High Springs man driving a sedan was traveling north on Interstate 75 near mile marker 399.
As he approached, the driver exited the roadway to the right for an unknown reason. The vehicle then traveled through the grass shoulder, colliding with an information and a standing tree before coming to a final rest.
The driver sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash.
This crash is an active ongoing investigation.
The FHP did not release the name of the driver.
