On September 11th, at approximately 11:14 pm, State Troopers attempted to stop a 2004 Hyundai for a speeding violation on State Road 29, Collier County.
The Hyundai recklessly fled from the traffic stop at a high rate of speed (over 100 mph). State Troopers performed a PIT maneuver on the Hyundai near the roundabout at State 29 / State Road 82.
The driver, Eddie Deleon, 45, of Lehigh Acres, then fled on foot. Troopers gave chase on foot for approximately ¼ miles, eventually catching and arresting him for fleeing and eluding, five-times suspended license, obstruction, and an active warrant, and booked him into the Collier County Jail.
No injuries were reported during the pursuit or arrest.
