Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision yesterday in Pasco County that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 3:33 PM, a Nissan Rogue sport utility vehicle driven by a 53-year-old Wesley Chapel man was traveling westbound on SR-54.
At the same time, a Yamaha YZF-R3 motorcycle, operated by a 49-year-old Sneads man, was traveling eastbound on SR-54.
At the intersection of Vandine Road, The SUV completed a U-turn into the path of the motorcycle and was struck by it.
Transported to an area hospital, the motorcyclist later expired from injuries suffered during the collision
The FHP did not release the names of the drivers involved in the collision.
