Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision yesterday in Pasco County that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 5:35 pm, a Suzuki motorcycle was traveling westbound on State Road 56 at a high rate of speed.
At the same time, a Ford pickup truck was traveling north on Oxbow Road, approaching State Road 56.
At the intersection, the pickup turned left onto SR-56 and was struck by the motorcycle.
After the collision, the motorcycle became engulfed in flames, and the rider, a 33-year-old Zephyrhills man, suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
The pickup driver, a 46-year-old man, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The FHP did not release the names of the drivers involved in the collision.
