A 63-year-old Naples man died after a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on Davis Boulevard in Collier County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 10:25 am August 5 near the intersection of Davis Boulevard and Heritage Trail.
According to FHP, the Naples man was driving a Chevrolet west in the left-turn lane of Davis Boulevard. A 22-year-old North Fort Myers woman was stopped directly ahead of him in the same lane in a 2022 Toyota.
The front-left portion of the Chevrolet struck the rear-right portion of the Toyota, investigators said.
Emergency responders transported the Chevrolet’s driver to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The Toyota’s driver was not injured.
Investigators are working to determine whether the Naples man experienced a medical episode before the collision. FHP has not released his identity or determined that a medical event caused the crash.
