Updating Breaking News: One dead, one injured after a two-vehicle collision in Charlotte County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision in Charlotte County yesterday, which resulted in the death of a driver.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 8:29 am, a sport utility vehicle driven by a 73-year-old Englewood man was stopped facing east on Oceanspray Boulevard for a stop sign at the intersection of Spinnaker Boulevard.
At the same time, a second SUV driven by a 55-year-old Englewood woman was traveling south on Spinnaker Boulevard, approaching the intersection of Oceanspray Boulevard.
As it advanced, the first vehicle entered the intersection before the approaching second vehicle, and the two SUVs collided.
After the crash, the second vehicle overturned, its driver was ejected, and pronounced deceased. The driver of the first vehicle reported minor injuries to the FHP.
The crash remains under investigation.
The FHP did not release the names of the drivers involved in the crash.
