Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision yesterday in Pasco County that resulted in the death of a driver and passenger.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 2:52 pm, a Kia Sorento was traveling westbound on SR-54 at a high rate of speed.
At the same time, a Lexus RX was traveling southbound on Virginia City Drive.
At the intersection, the second vehicle turned left into the path and was struck by the first vehicle.
The driver of the first vehicle, a 27-year-old Holiday man, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the second vehicle and a passenger, a 66-year-old man and a 68-year-old man, respectively, both of New Port Richey, suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
The FHP did not release the names of the drivers or passenger involved in the collision.
