According to the FHP report, at approximately 5:34 am, a Florida Highway Patrol Trooper was stationary assisting with a construction detail at the intersection of Sand Lake Road and the Interstate 4 westbound exit ramp.

The trooper observed a 2016 Nissan Sentra (driven by a 21-year-old Orlando man) make a right turn and begin traveling east the wrong way onto the westbound I-4 exit ramp from Sand Lake Road. The Trooper pursued the vehicle in an attempt to stop it with lights and sirens activated.
