Breaking News Overnight: Motorcyclist dies after single-vehicle collision in Brevard County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision in Brevard County last night that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 11:40 pm, a 22-year-old Merritt Island man riding a 2015 BMW motorcycle was traveling north on US-1 (State Road 5) onto the eastbound ramp for State Road 404 (Pineda Causeway).
As the motorcycle approached, the rider failed to maintain a lane and ran off the roadway to the left.
The rider was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
The FHP did not release the name of the motorcyclist involved in the collision.
